End of September Ramblings

I haven’t done anything new content wise which saddens me a little bit. On one hand this thing feels like it was once a shiny new toy but has since been downgraded to something to re-gift to Salvation Army. On the other I’m horrified I even feel that way. Things have been busy and I think that once I’m more often online outside of work things will return to normal. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

I saw Eagle Eye last night despite knowing full well it suffered from a majority of negative reviews. Logic would suggest avoiding something that’s registering at a 25% ‘freshness’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes (26% now, yay). But it was something I wanted to see regardless. Having a pretty high tolerance for campy, popcorn films it did not disappoint. There were times where it suffered from poor writing and execution but fantastical ‘worse-case-scenario’ plot aside, it wasn’t as bad as they say. I’m not going to lay any spoilers down, you’ll simply have to see it for yourself. I don’t know what it is about critics and action movies, they’re always so high-brow in their critique of them in the same way an intellectual would regard a brutish football player’s wits. Here’s a hint geniuses, don’t want football for intelligent digestion and I would suggest the same goes for action/popcorn movies.

Having no internet at home currently is a drag. I’m having way worse torrent withdrawals than I ever had with cigarettes, I have to go to extraordinarily inconvenient lengths to grab any sort of large file media from the interwebs, it’s a giant pain in the ass. This is bar none the worst part of moving, which is going down on Tuesday. At that time I’ll be spending a lot of time catching up on the several weeks I missed. It will be glorious.

To conclude this short ramble I’m like to throw out some shout-outs: Go Twins – DIAF Republicans – Panera your wifi is despicable – Old lady across the room you need to stop staring at me, yes you.
Adios.
